The Zavalla Food Pantry serves more than 2,000 people each year with boxes full of nutritious food, mostly sourced from the East Texas Food Bank, but also from local donations. The Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation has supported the Zavalla Food Pantry for years by providing them gift cards to pick up necessary items from the Zavalla Brookshire Brothers store just a couple of miles down the road.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Deep East Texas is the largest youth-serving organization in their region, helping to improve academic standards for children, providing daily meals, supporting healthy lifestyles, and addressing character traits like responsibility, honesty, and integrity. The Don Boyd Summer Youth Camp, a project of the Concerned Black Men of Lufkin, has served underprivileged youths in Angelina County for more than 40 years. A grant from the Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation goes toward hiring certified instructors and pays for instructional materials in order to maintain the high quality standards set by the program.
