It was a grand way to start the 4th of July in Pilot Point as Brookshire Brothers opened its 107th store. The employee-owned company out of Lufkin invited the entire community to the July 1st party that featured cheerleaders, Cub Scouts, veterans, a prize wheel, dignitaries, giveaways and samples for hundreds.  Chamber of Commerce Executive Denise Morris and Chamber President Jim McIlroy joined COO John Alston and Store Director Richard Hamill in cutting the ribbon. Recent Pilot Point High School graduate Harmony Tetmeyer sang The National Anthem.

The 22,500 square foot store on South Highway 377 emphasizes FRESH with its in store Bakery, Deli, Meat Market and extensive Produce Department. A full service pharmacy with a drive through will open in September.
