Brookshire Brothers invites the community to a grand re-opening celebration at its Smithville store on Wednesday, May 11. Residents will have the opportunity to explore the newly renovated facility and experience the many additional services that the company incorporated into the store.
The official Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m.
Throughout the day, shoppers can register for door prizes, spin the prize wheel, enjoy free samples and sign up to save big through Celebrate Rewards, Brookshire Brothers’ customer loyalty program. The first 100 customers through the doors on opening day will receive a special goody bag full of samples from Brookshire Brothers’ gracious vendor partners.
The Lufkin-based company began the store’s extensive remodel in September 2021. The multi-million dollar investment includes a new in-store pharmacy, an expanded deli lineup, a space to sit and enjoy a meal, and Brookshire Brothers Anywhere, the company’s premier grocery delivery and curbside pickup service. The company also painted, updated its décor, refreshed the bathrooms and installed LED lights and more modern equipment, in an effort to be more eco-friendly.
The new state-of-the-art pharmacy, an exciting addition to the Smithville community, is currently accepting patient transfers.

The expanded deli features sliced-to-order meats and cheeses; bulk fresh salads; a multitude of Easy Eats and Chef Ready fully prepared and semi-prepared food options; in-house smoked meats; and handmade pizzas. Brookshire Brothers also increased the variety of fresh and organic produce, added new high quality cuts of beef, pork and chicken, and nearly doubled the capacity for frozen foods. The center store features everything a Smithville resident needs: including Brookshire Brothers’ select store brands such as Fresh Harvest, Food Club, Simply Done, TopCare, Tippy Toes and Paws.
