BBCF 2024 Grant Recipient Spotlight: The Boaz House

Nestled in the heart of Brookshire, Texas, The Boaz House is making a difference in the lives of women who are recovering from substance abuse. This six-month faith-based women's rehab facility provides a racially, ethnically and culturally diverse therapeutic community for women who are serious about recovery.

Just beyond their bright pink front door lives a group of women learning how to beat addiction and fall in love with God and themselves. The residents live in a highly structured and highly supervised, drug- and alcohol-free environment. A carefully designed daily routine promotes maximum personal responsibility and accountability. This unique arrangement nurtures peer support within an intimate, compassionate and loving community environment.

The ladies are responsible for daily chores, Bible study and regularly scheduled yard sales to help raise money for the program. During their stay, they become active in giving back to their community. When their time is up, The Boaz House offers aftercare planning to support sustained sobriety and overall wellness.

In hopes of nearly doubling their capacity, The Boaz House staff and board of directors have undertaken the massive renovation of an old home between Brookshire and Hempstead, Texas. As a first-time Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation recipient, the Boaz House will use its grant to purchase furniture and equipment for the fully renovated home.
