Can I take a partial vacation day?

Unfortunately, you must take a full vacation day.  For Full Time employees that is a full 8 hours or based on your defined hours.  For Part Time or Part Time Insurance Eligible employees your vacation is based on how many hours you worked in the previous year. For example, if you averaged 23.75 hours per week from your hire date until your one year anniversary then your full day is 4.75 per day (23.75/5=4.75).  For those with multiple weeks of vacation, an example would be; you get 2 weeks of vacation, and you have a total of 61.30 hours of vacation which will be 6.13 per day (61.30/2=30.65 per week; 30.65/5=6.13).  Vacation days for part time employees will not be paid out if the week worked is equal or more than their weekly average hours (based on the prior year).

Can I just get my vacation paid out in one lump sum?

Unfortunately, you must actually take the days off of work to be eligible to take a vacation day.
